Frequent Questions

Do you undertake jobs in domestic properties?

We no longer provide services directly to domestic customers.
We do however provide electrical inspections and services to landlords and letting agents as well as local housing authorities.
As a landlord, it is your legal duty to ensure all electrical equipment in your property is safe and maintained throughout the whole tenancy.
u

How often does a periodic inspection need to be done?

It is recommended that periodic inspection and testing is carried out;
For tenanted properties , every 5 years or at change of occupancy whichever is sooner.
For businesses at least every 5 years.
1 year for swimming pools!
We recommend landlords arrange for periodic inspection and testing to be carried out at the relevant intervals shown above.

What is periodic inspection?

A periodic inspection is an inspection and associated testing to check whether an electrical installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued service. On completion of the necessary inspection and testing, an Electrical Installation Condition Report will be issued detailing any observed damage, deterioration, defects, dangerous conditions and any non-compliances with the present-day safety standard which might give rise to danger.

Are your electricians trained?

This may seem like an obvious question, but we do get asked!
Our electricians regularly attend approved training courses to enhance their skills – these include the standard electrical regulations. We also attend courses specialising in fire alarms, emergency lighting, security alarms, inspection and testing, local building authority warrants and PAT Testing.
